My accident-prone week

Happy 1st Birthday Voltagebox! :D

I’ve been so accident-prone this week! Let me tell you all about it. :)
Monday, I’m sick at home and coughing my lungs out non-stop and I still am.

Tuesday, I get hit by a football on the right side of my face. Thankfully my friend took me to sick bay & I got some ice on it. I don’t remember getting hit, I just remember the pain, weird. The guy who kicked the footy at me didn’t apologise to me either, idiot. :( Alot of people looked at me weirdly too, not cool.

Wednesday, A few accidents happened today. I was doing my maths homework before and I flipped the page and I see blood on there. I look at my hand and there is blood on my thumb! It’s a very deep paper cut and I can’t find the band-aids so I’m stuck with a tissue.

Learn to surf today. The waves were strong & there were channels (not rips) on the left & right of where we were surfing so there would be huge waves then it would be flat. Paddling out was very tiring, I couldn’t keep up & I got wiped out so many times. I also had a wave drop on my head. :( One of my friends got pushed when he was almost out of the water & rolled on the sand. It was hilarious. :P

An instructor came & paddled with me out and we were almost past the breaking waves when this humongous wave is forming in front of me. So I’m paddling on my board towards it, prepared to roll over it. I start getting over the wave when it starts to cave in on me, but my board just makes it. Next thing I know is that there is a large gap between my board & the water. Yep that’s right, I was in the air freaking out. It felt cool up until I looked down. Well as my board & I went down, I pushed the board further out & below me so it would break the water before I hit it. It was a very stupid idea as the board landed then I landed on it. I call it a board-flop. It also hurt too.

That’s my week so far. I’m predicting that tomorrow I’ll lose my contacts or I’ll embarrass myself in some way or another.

I also made a comic out of my “board-flop”. It’s in 2 parts. :)

10 Ways to find new music

I bet that most of us listen to music regularly, but how often do we replay the same song or playlist over and over again until we get sick of it and we need to find new songs before it’s too late? Finding new songs can be a headache, especially when you’ve listened to all the songs on the music charts. If your used to a certain genre of music, why not try listening to another one? Even if you don’t like it, it might grow on you after a while. Here are 10 ways I found out about some new music:

  1. I remember watching Video Hits on TV one morning and there was this new band I’d never heard of before called Hey Monday. I made a note of the band name & I checked it out on the internet and listened to some of their songs, which I enjoyed.

  2. When I’m on the internet and I’ve got nothing to do, which is often, I go on The Hot Hits and listen to music there. Actually I’m listening to music from there now! Other times I’ll go to 2Day FM and check out the music there or listen to some music online.

  3. Music charts differ from country to country, so why not listen to another countries’ top music? I like the iTunes Store Top 10 Songs.

  4. Look at your friend’s iPod and check out some new songs that you like & take note of the artist. Asking your friends & family for recommendations is a good way of finding new music too. ;D

  5. YouTube! That’s where I heard of Boys like Girls, Basshunter and Short Stack. I usually go to the music channel and browse through the songs.

  6. Have you recently watched a movie? Well then listen to the movie’s soundtrack! You might recognise some songs and become obsessed with them. Chick flicks and action movies usually have the best soundtracks. :) One of the recent movies is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I like the song New Divide by Linkin Park.

  7. Heard of that cool music social networking site called Last.fm? I’d recommend you join because you can get recommendations based on what music you listen to & you can compare your music to others. I found out about the bands Relient K & Skillet through there.

  8. TV ads, especially the Apple ones, usually have great music that not many people have heard of before. You can also try TV shows.

  9. Search for music by the genre and see if you can find any cool songs. I usually listen to rock and dance music.

  10. Ask me for some recommendations :P

Well I hope that helps you all find some new music and not get bored of listening to the same ones all the time. Do you have any other ways of finding new music? If yes, why don’t you share them with everyone. :)
